I found my apprenticeship through the government website. When I applied I went through different stages. Firstly, I had a phone call with velocity to confirm details, then I did a Teams interview that was sent to my current employer to see what I was like before inviting me to an in-person interview which I thought was a great idea.
When I first started, I had 2 onboarding sessions with my line manager and skills coach which helped me to understand the process and how things would be. After that, I started my lessons. These were amazing in helping me to understand different applications and knowledge of data. These were very helpful in the completion of my portfolio and what I do day to day at work.
The one-to-one sessions with my skills coach were excellent and helped me to stay on track throughout my apprenticeship. Everyone had great knowledge of what I was learning and how I could improve which put me at ease.
I have learnt so many different skills while completing my apprenticeship with velocity. These include technical skills like Excel, Power BI, SQL and behavioural skills like organisation and time management which are all vital.
After the completion of my apprenticeship, I have learned so many skills and have much improved confidence others. Everyone at work was pleased with the process and it has inspired us to go for another apprenticeship.
